Develop Your Muscles to Increase Vertical Jumps

Learning how to increase vertical jumps is not a difficult concept to understand.  There are many different aspects of the effort that it will take in order to increase vertical jumps, but it is the exercising that will have the most affect.  Muscle development is important to increasing vertical jumps.  If you do not work on the muscles that are used regularly for leaping, you won't be able to leap.

Building your muscles can only be achieved by exercise.  You need to create a set of exercises that will target the leg muscles.  Strength training exercises are the type of exercises that you will need to select in order to build the muscles in your legs.  These exercises will help you create a higher explosive strength, which is what your muscles use to get you off the ground and soaring through the air.

Train Your vertical Jump By Combining Several Exercises

A helpful tip is to try combining several exercises that you would normally do separately.  For example, you would usually do squats as one exercise, and power leaping in another.  Combine them together to make power squatting leaps.  Start in the standing position for a squat.  Lower yourself into the squat.  Then, instead of raising up slowly, you will leap up into the air, almost like a frog jump.

Another helpful tip is to add weights whenever you can.  Ankle weights are available that allow you to change the amount of weight when you need to add some extra resistance.  Curl bars with weight plates will work well for the standing strength training exercises that you do.

Typical Exercises Will Increase Vertical Jumps.

You should be using typical exercises, like jump roping and leg lifting as well.  Jump roping is often thought of as a cardio workout.  This is true, but if you add some of the weights that were described above, you can increase the resistance on your legs.  Leg lifts are always a great choice for building leg muscle strength.

To increase vertical jumps, you need to focus on the lower body muscles.  This does not mean that you simply forget about the rest of the exercises that are part of your training program.  You cannot stop working out the rest of your body.  Instead, the exercises that you choose should be supplements to all of the other exercises that you have in your training program.

I also learn the hard way that when doing a plyometric training make sure you have a strong joints and tendons because you will be adding a lot of pressure on them and if they are weak you are risking yourself into injury, which will cause delays in seeing improvements. When you are in weight training you should focus on lifting weights that are 85% of your max rep, and quality of exercise and focus on speed. The faster you're able to lift the weight the more stress you put on the muscle and the stronger they will become.So always be careful and make your health the priority.
